Imploring God in a noisy world
The world feels heavy these days.
Every time we open our phones, there’s another tragedy, another argument, another reason to feel helpless.
War. Injustice. Hate. Families breaking apart. Friends growing distant.
And even when nothing is happening, there’s that quiet ache that we can’t name.
We scroll through endless videos, voices, opinions, but somehow, the more connected we are, the more disconnected we feel.
It’s easy to start wondering where peace went, or if anyone really listens anymore.
But the Qur’an reminds us that peace never left, we just stopped turning toward the One who gives it.
Surely, it is in the remembrance of God that hearts find comfort.
Quran 13:28
In all this noise, imploring Allah can feel like a forgotten language.
We post, we vent, we distract ourselves, but when was the last time we simply sat with our sadness and said, “God, I need You”?
Your Lord has proclaimed, “Call upon Me, I will respond to you.
Quran 40:60
That invitation is still there, gentle, patient, waiting.
It was there when the messengers called out in despair.
It’s there for every heart that breaks quietly behind a screen.
He hears us, not because our words are perfect, but because our need is real.
Who hears the cry of the anguished when it calls to Him, and relieves its suffering?
Quran 27:62
Sometimes, being a believer today feels lonely.
Trying to hold onto the Qur’an alone can feel like walking upstream.
You start to wonder if you’re strange for not fitting into the noise, for craving silence, truth, sincerity.
But Allah already knew this path would feel narrow.
If you follow the majority of people on the earth, they will lead you astray from the path of God, for they follow only conjecture and surmise.
Quran 6:116
Even when the world misunderstands you, He doesn’t.
Even when no one answers your messages, He hears your thoughts before you can form them.
And when My servants ask you about Me, I Am near; I answer the call of the caller when he calls on Me. So let them answer Me, and have faith in Me, that they may be rightly guided.
Quran 2:186
So, when you feel numb scrolling through bad news, when the loneliness creeps in after midnight, when the world feels cold, remember: the One who made your heart is still listening for it.
He knows what breaks it.
He knows what will heal it.
And He hasn’t gone anywhere.
And He found you lost and guided [you],
Quran 93:7
Imploring Allah is how we stay alive inside.
It’s how we protect our hearts from hardening.
It’s how we remind ourselves that, even when the world is falling apart, the connection between a servant and his Lord never breaks.
So, talk to Him.
He listens. Always has. Always will.
